In its purest form, Vanilla Extract is made from only two ingredients – Vanilla Beans macerated in alcohol.

The flavoring is free from any colorings, preservatives, sugars, artificial flavors or other additives.

Fun Fact: Did you know? Vanilla is actually quite bitter. The alcohol is the carrier that evaporates during cooking, leaving behind the flavorful oils to blend with the sugars in your recipe creating that intoxicating vanilla fragrance you know and love.

So, what makes Double Up Vanilla Better?

We use Grade A vanilla beans and the double fold method which makes for a richer, more flavorful, higher quality extract. With Double Up Vanilla, you will discover an incredible flavor profile. A heavenly aroma with a rich dark color and an oily surface are just the beginning of what awaits you. A halved, split vanilla bean in every bottle will not only continue to contribute enhanced flavor but will release its caviar for the life of the bottle. The little black vanilla seeds will be your secret flavor enhancer in your desserts that people will rave about. Premium grade vanilla beans simply have a richer, fuller flavor than any commercially produced vanilla extract.

However, we go one step further than just using Grade A vanilla beans. We choose quality brands of alcohol to enhance the flavor profiles of the beans themselves. Vodka, Rum, Bourbon, and Brandy all contribute flavor characteristics to the finished product. Blending the types of vanilla beans also brings complex flavor profiles to the finished product. Pairing vanilla beans with complimentary flavor profiles to a carrying alcohol that will enhance those characteristics creates another unique taste experience.

Vanilla is considered an essential ingredient in many desserts, especially baked goods like cakes, cookies, brownies, and cupcakes, as well as custards, ice creams, and puddings. But don’t stop there, add our vanillas to your daily yogurt, smoothies, or even coffee. In the evening, muddle some of the paste in the bottom of your glass for a unique craft cocktail.

Madagascar:

This is your “Classic Vanilla”. The decadent flavor profile is sweet, creamy, rich, and warm with a spicy back note. We make this vanilla with a neutral spirit to let the flavor of the beans shine thru. Aged 12 months.


Madagascar Fall Edition:

“Classic Vanilla” with a twist. The flavor profile of this vanilla is lightly spiced due to the pairing of the rich warm beans with a spiced rum for extraction. Perfect flavor profile to pair with fall baking. Aged 12 months.


Madagascar/Bourbon 1792 – Limited Edition:

Think Vanilla Old Fashioned – Creamy, rich, caramel and buttery warm up front, followed by soft smoky hints of charred oak and a little hint of cinnamon and citrus on the finish. This vanilla was made with 1792 Bourbon and aged for 18 months.


Tahitian/Pompona Blend:

Tahitian Vanilla Beans bring a delicate floral, fruity and sweet flavor profile with cherry-like top notes that naturally enhance sweetness and help round off the tartness and acidity in fruits and foods.

Pompona Beans bring a strong vanilla aroma with earthy and rich undertones of molasses, figs and dried fruit.

This vanilla was made with a neutral spirit to let the flavor profiles shine. Aged 18 months.
